DL-Serine is colorless monoclinic column or flaky crystal. Decomposed at 246°C, 150°C, sublimed at 1.33×10-2Pa. Soluble in water, Insoluble in anhydrous ethanol and ether. Used for the synthesis of L-Tryptophan and cycloserine etc.
